Personal Electricity Generator Looks Wicked

I heard about the nPower PEG (Personal Electricity Generator) today driving home from work and immediately wished I still worked in Manhattan and walked everywhere so I would have an excuse to get one when they go on sale this Christmas for a mere $149.

Made by Cleveland-based Tremont Electric, the nPower is about 9 inches long and weighs just 9 ounces. You clip it vertically to your hip, start walking, and the kinetic energy generated is equivalent to a standard home power outlet. It’s USB 2.0 standard which means it will be able to charge a wide variety of portable devices.

Pity the spouse of the Crackberry addict who takes this on vacation while camping.
